EXPERIENCED AS WE TOURED THE DEATH CAMP AT AUSCHWITZ AND BIRKENAU. I’VE NEVER BEEN HERE. I’VE NEVER BEEN TO OUTFIT AND NEVER BEEN TO ANY OF THESE CAMPS. EVER SINCE I WAS A LITTLE BOY. I KNEW MY PARENTS WERE HOLOCAUST SURVIVORS. I KNEW MY DAD WAS FROM HERE. HE WAS FROM

AUSCHWITZ. HE WAS FROM THE TOWN HERE, WHICH HAD BEEN SEEN. THIS IS SO PAINFUL FOR ME AND SO PERSONAL FOR ME BECAUSE ALL FOUR OF MY GRANDPARENTS WERE KILLED DURING THE HOLOCAUST AND TWO OF THEM MY PATERNAL GRANDPARENTS. MY DAD’S MOM AND DAD WERE KILLED HERE AT AUSCHWITZ. AND YOUR

DAD’S SIBLINGS DIDN’T SURVIVE ONE SISTER SHE LOVED. WHEN YOUNGER SISTER. THE OTHERS WERE ALL KILLED BY THE END OF THE WAR, THEY WERE LIBERATED AT BERGEN BELSEN, AND THEY WERE TAKEN ON THIS FORCED MARCH. THE DEATH MARCH MARCH. THAT’S HOW MY GREAT AUNT DIED WITH. MY DAD’S YOUNGER BROTHER DIED ON THAT

DEATH MARCH. MY GREAT GRANDPARENTS. THEY WERE HUNGARIAN. SO THEY WERE SAFE UNTIL 1944 AND HUNGARY BECAUSE HITLER DIDN’T INVADE THEIR UNTIL CLOSE TO THE END OF THE WAR. SO MY GRANDPARENTS WERE IN THE UNITED STATES, AND THEY WERE RECEIVING SOME LETTERS. FROM MY GRANDMOTHER’S PARENTS. AND AS THE LETTERS CAME, THEY WERE

GETTING MORE AND MORE DIRE. AND WE HAVE THE FINAL LETTER THAT SAYS, UNTIL THIS MOMENT AT LEAST I COULD HOLD MYSELF TOGETHER. BUT NOW I HAVE TO WRITE A FAREWELL LETTER TO MY DEAREST CHILDREN. MY HEART IS GETTING VERY HEAVY. I MUST STOP AFTER EVERY WORD AND COLLECT MYSELF IN

ORDER TO CONTINUE WRITING. AND THEY WERE SAYING GOODBYE BEFORE THEY CAME HERE. THE NEW IT WAS ABOUT TO HAPPEN. WHAT WAS GONNA HAPPEN BY THAT TIME, DANIEL. I’M LOOKING AROUND AND I’M THINKING I DON’T EVEN KNOW IF THEY MADE IT INTO THE BARRACKS. JUST THE TRAINING. AH! THIS IS WHERE MY

GRANDPARENTS WERE THANK YOUR GRANDPARENTS WERE WERE KILLED RIGHT HERE. YEAH. THIS IS TRUE. YES. TRUE BROTHERS. BUT THEY WERE NOTHING, NOT PEOPLE. HMM. THERE’S SO MANY PEOPLE HERE BECAUSE TODAY IS A SPECIAL DAY OF THE LIVING, AND IT’S CALLED MARCH OF THE LIVING BECAUSE THE TOOK HIM OUT OF THE DEATH MARCH

. TODAY WE’RE DOING THE MARCH OF THE LIVING, WHICH IS SO POWERFUL. TELL US WHY YOU CAME HERE TONIGHT. I CAME HERE TODAY BECAUSE I REPRESENT THIS SIX MILLION PEOPLE THAT ARE BEHIND ME. WHOSE SHADOW FOLLOWS ME WHEREVER I GO, WERE SHAVED CLOSER. AND PUT OUR NUMBER ON

OUR ARM. AND I BECAME A PRISONER. THIS IS EVEN MORE SPECIAL TO BE HERE BECAUSE IT’S THE 80TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE UPRISING GHETTO AND IT WAS THE MOST IMPORTANT MOMENT FOR JEWS DURING THE WAR TO FIGHT BACK WARSAW’S GHETTO WHERE POLLS BATTLED FOR WEEK UPRISING BEGAN ON APRIL 19TH 1943 IT WAS THE

VERY FIRST DAY OF VERY IMPORTANT JEWISH HOLIDAY PASSOVER. SOME OF THESE WEAPONS WERE YOU KNOW, THEY WERE SO PRIMITIVE, SO THERE WERE 50,000 PEOPLE STILL HERE? YES 1000 JEWS WHO WERE STARVING. DISEASE RIDDEN THEY WERE EITHER TAKEN AWAY OR KILLED COMPLETELY . MANY PEOPLE DIED HERE ON THE

SPOT. YOUR PARENTS WERE IN THE WORST SIDE GHETTO MARRIED IN THE WARSAW GHETTO. HOW DID THEY SURVIVE? THEY SURVIVED BY MY FATHER’S INGENUITY IN THE LATE 18 WAS THE HEADQUARTERS OF THE RESISTANCE ORGANIZATION, AND THEY LIVED A BLOCK AWAY WHEN THE GERMAN ARMY CAME IN. OF COURSE, THEY WERE KNOCKING DOWN

BUILDINGS AND BURNING THEM DOWN BUILDING BY BUILDING FROM BUILDING AND THE JEWS WERE WHEN THEY WERE FIGHTING, THROWING MOLOTOV COCKTAILS AT THE TANKS AND THINGS YOU IMAGINE THESE TANKS COME IN, AND IT TOOK ABOUT A MONTH, AND THEY FINALLY HAD TO GIVE UP. MY FRIEND MICHAEL BERENBAUM, ASKED MARC EDELMAN,

WHO WAS THE LAST LIVING COMMANDER OF THE WORST OF GHETTO UPRISING SAYS DID YOU FIGHT? CHOOSE THE WAY YOU DIED. EDELMAN ANSWERED. NO WE FOUGHT TO DECIDE THE WAY WE WOULD LIVE UNTIL WE DIED. REALLY HAPPY THEN. KEPT THIS PLACE I WAS THINKING ABOUT YOU CAN SEE IT AND THEY KNOW IT

WAS NOT A MYTH. WHAT YOU ALWAYS SAY WOLF. ABOUT WHEN YOUR FATHER WOULD SEE YOU ON TV. THIS WAS REVENGE. FOR HIM, IT WAS SATISFIED. NOT JUST TO SEE A SOMEONE TV BUT YOU KNOW THAT CHILD OF HOLOCAUST WAS REPORTING THE NEWS. THE BEST REVENGE. IS

  1. Wolf and Dana – thank you so much for sharing this with all of us. The horrors of the Shoah must not be forgotten. I cannot imagine your pain or the pain of your families to live through such atrocities. Thriving is a form of resistance. While the perpetrators of this are mostly gone their legacy of evil lives no longer under the rock under which they crawled. Everyone must see this video and see for themselves so that is does not happen again. Am Yisroel Chai. May your Grandparents and family (Wolf) and Great Aunt (Dana) memories be for a blessing. G-d Bless.

  2. There are some obvious questions that are always missed. I will mention just three big omissions
    1) There must have been more train loads of coal than people. The coal bunkers must have been massive yet aerial photographs show no bunkers and records do not show extraordinary coal deliveries.
    2) Auschwitz has 15 ovens, which can incinerate 1 body at a time, ranging 1.5-3 hours per body. So how was it able to burn "2 million bodies" in the alleged time frame?
    3) You have just gassed 2000 people. The gas has just proved itself to be lethal. You immediately go in the room to start dragging out the dead. Why do they never mention gas masks, or oxygen? Without them, they would die of gas poisoning. Gas naturally settles in enclosed areas and fans are never mentioned but even then it could take hours to clean the room. Not to mention Auschwitz's SS camp administration building and barracks were only yards away, so did it not kill them also. Was it magic gas?

-Total of 2188 tons of coal delivered to Auschwitz

  3. Soviet authorities sent 15 million Christians to their deaths in prison camps between 1921 and 1950. Not 4-6 million as it was with your people!! And your people was behind communism. So why do we not hear about the christian holocaust in the soviet? I know why! because then your people would have no excuse for having been given the promised land. and if it wasn't for all your organizations. the promised land would have been belonged to the true chosen people!! The christians of course!!!!!

  4. Auschwitz had swimming pool, orchestra, theater, sports teams and a maternity ward. Quite a death camp! I wonder when the crematoria smoke stacks were built…

  5. A perfect storm of misfortunes doomed the Jews of Europe. The fact that there was no serious continental power that could match Nazi Germany's military power in the first 3 to 4 years of the war. It meant they had SIX SOLID years to do and complete their murderous deed. 6 six years of intensive killing. It's a miracle some still managed to survive.

  6. People need to learn the truth about their incessant hatred and evil for everyone but themselves. I've also learned of the methods and techniques they have honed over centuries to attack and deal with people who have discovered and dare to mention their true evil teachings and agendas they are not invincible they can be overpowered.

  7. Not only 5 million was killed there. All human race was killed.

The Qur'an Teaches if you safe a soul is as if you saved all human race….
if you kill unjustly a soul is as if you killed all human race.

  8. Show the smoke stack sticking in the ground that leads to no where. Ask the tour guides when the holes in the ceilings were built. Why do the gas chambers have wooden doors?

  9. It is incredibly heart-wrenching to hear about the immeasurable pain and suffering that Holocaust survivors experienced during their time in concentration camps.

It is devastating to learn that not only were these individuals forced to endure inhumane living conditions, but they were also exposed to dangerous toxins like asbestos that have had long-lasting effects on their physical and mental health.

It is a true testament to the resilience of these survivors that they continued to seek out medical care for their conditions and had placed their trust in medical professionals to provide them with the necessary treatment. It serves as a reminder that even in the midst of tragedy and hardship, there is always hope for healing and recovery.

As we move forward, it is crucial that we continue to honor and remember the victims of the Holocaust and work towards creating a more just and equitable world for all individuals, irrespective of their background, race, or religion.

  10. I dream one day all the major channels of the world will tour the Death Deserts in modern day Turkey, where the bones of the 1.5 million Armenians still scream at the greatest injustice the world still hasn’t addressed: the recognition of and the reparation for the horrific genocide of the first century, committed by the Turks. If it were addressed, maybe the Holocaust wouldn’t have happened; after all, Hitler said famously, “Who today speaks of the annihilation of the Armenians?”—encouraging to commit the heinous crimes because there would not be any retaliation anyways.

  11. Putin calls Ukraine Nazis, but i personally would see him as similar to Hitler, who tries to seize world power for himself and mercilessly kills anyone, even his own !And especially those who turn against him! This is a good reminder of how, history repeats itself and i myself have visited these terrible places.I personally believe in a good tomorrow and every dictator will die,it has always happened.Amen.

  12. This is the worst, THE WORST human rights abused in world history. My ancestors were killed like so many others. Thank you CNN for covering this.
